The fencing tradition of Satu Mare has been, is, and I hope will continue to be a reference point for Romanian fencing. Besides the series of champions raised and trained in the local fencing hall, who have represented Romania in the most important competitions, Satu Mare has also contributed to the development of other athletes through the multitude of competitions organized there. For me, personally, "Satu Mare" will always represent the place where I first encountered international fencing, the city that always welcomed me with joy, the place that gave me not only the dearest and most passionate teammate but also other valuable people, whom I am certain will carry on the legacy of Satu Mare fencing. The fencing school of Satu Mare was the one that raised me as a high-performance athlete. The 13 years spent in the fencing hall of Satu Mare laid the foundation with which, together with my teammates, we managed to win the most precious medal in an athlete's career - the Olympic gold.
And with me, the story doesn't end, because thanks to the dedicated and professional coaches, the fencing school of Satu Mare continues to be the best épée school in Romania, still dominating the national championships in all age categories to this day.
It’s worth giving it a try; in fencing, you never know who will become the champion, as it is a sport without a set standard.
